Run Asdzaan! Run!

This Navajo girl is so loving running again.
An intimate letter to running will be added soon.

*I did not take the above picture but it's one that is widely recognized. It's a picture of a young Navajo lady running during her female puberty ceremony which we call her Kinaalda. (Pronounced Kin-all-DUH) I had one when I was 13 years old. I didn't run very far and I wish I had but the distance is usually up to the girl.

Carmen ... thanks for sharing. I imagine we wouldn't be such an overweight society if the dominant culture in this country had a right-of-passage ceremony that required us (both girls and boys) to run at 10K.

Lovely, lovely picture. You are more than making up now for what you did not run then.
